The University of Parma (UPR)

The University of Parma (UPR) is one of the oldest universities in the world and is among the 20 top performing universities in Italy in the major EU funding schemes FP7 and H2020, awarding more than 70 grants so far. UPR has a sound tradition in theoretical and experimental magnetism and the scientific campus hosts also the CNR Institute of Materials for Electronics and Magnetism. In particular, UPR has an internationally recognized expertise in the theory of molecular nanomagnets, in molecule-based quantum information processing and in neutron scattering. UPR has also recognized expertise in f-electron systems. Solid international collaborations are also demonstrated by the past participation in the MAGMANET network of excellence on molecular magnetism, the QUANTERA SUMO project, through INSTM (National Interuniversity Consortium of Materials Science and Technology), and FATMOLS.

The Department of Chemistry at the University of Florence

The Department of Chemistry at the University of Florence is ranked #1 at national level. The team has a long-standing expertise in molecular magnetism, covering aspects from the chemical design, magnetic characterization and organization on surfaces of bistable magnetic molecules with recent extension to molecules with long spin coherence.
